What You Need to Know About 'AI Fake Drake'

What an interesting week for music! If you haven't been following the story, late last week, an artists named 'Ghostwr!ter' uploaded an original song featuring AI Generated fake vocals from Drake as well as The Weeknd. Before they were taken down under copyright claims from their respective labels, the songs racked up over 15 million views on Tiktok, 625,000 plays on Spotify and over 250,000 plays on YouTube. What's interesting here is that the song was successfully uploaded to all major streaming platforms, and took UMG about 5 days to take down. The artist responsible only giving one statement - "This is just the beginning". I don't think he's wrong! You can read more here

Coachella Fined $100,000 for Going Over Curfew

I'm sure most of you have either played or attended a show (most likely in northbridge!) where you've suddenly been ushered out at 11:59! Curfew laws can get pretty insane, with venues often facing 10's of thousands of dollars worth of fines for exceeding noise limits after certain times. Well, turns out those same rules apply to festivals like Coachella! The festival ran 25 minutes past its curfew on Friday (April 14), 22 minutes on Saturday (April 15) and 25 minutes on Sunday (April 16). Per the agreement with the city of Indio, California, going five minutes past the curfew will result in a $20,000 fine for each day, with every subsequent minute costing $1,000.
