G'day Friends!

Little bit of an adjustment with the wet weather, but hey! No better time to get indoors into a nice warm rehearsal room.

RedHook Debut Album Drops!

You might have seen that when Rob isn't working away on the studio, he manages incredibly talented artists like RedHook! They just dropped their debut album this week (have yourself a listen here!), picking up feature album on Triple J, whilst they round up their tour with The Smashing Pumpkins around Aus. And up next is their album tour! If you're around on the 11th or 12th of May in Perth, you can catch them at the Prince of Wales in Bunbury on the Thursday and Amplifier Bar on the Friday! Cassette Tape Comeback

First vinyl, now are cassettes making a comeback? For the first time (in a long time), some artists outsold cassettes over vinyl, which made up 10% of UK Music physical sales in 2022. Cassette tapes have been on the rise since 2017 (a 35% increase), with many artists like Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Artic Monkeys and more choosing to release their works on the format, and with the relatively low cost risk factor for labels, it seems like it's working! This may be partially due to the backup of vinyl printing that is still ongoing from COVID, but hey, maybe if your car still has a tape deck - you'd be stoked! You can read more about it here

BIGSOUND Unveils Speakers!

Bigsound is kicking off this year in Brisbane from 5-8 September, and have just unveiled their speakers list for the year! You can catch Andy Kalyvas from Netflix, Ash Stahl from Flighthouse, Cabrea Casey from Downtown Music, Hazel Savage from Soundcloud, Interscope’s Michele Ronzon ( A&R Coordinator at Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records, manages an A&R roster including Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD, and Alesso) ROC Nation’s Omar Grant (once the road manager for Destiny’s Child, and now Co-President of JAY-Z’s ROC Nation), JKBX’s Scott Cohen, and Vanessa Palmer from Paramount.
