Snoop Dogg Puts Death Row Label Back on Spotify
Huge news for hip hop fans! About a year ago, former Death Row rapper Snoop Dogg purchased the label from MNRK Music Group, and subsequently pulled the entire catalogue from streaming services. And why do this? Turns out the purchase was backed by Gamma, a 1 Billion dollar company owned by a former Apple CEO, and they've been fleshing out the rights and terms of agreement with our man Snoop. High Voltage Fest is Back!
You may remember not long ago, High Voltage fest took place in Freo with a bunch of bands playing on flatbed trucks driving around for onlookers to view on the streets. Well it's back for another year!
Some of the acts playing on seven flatbed trucks include Body Type, Diesel, Cash Savage And The Last Drinks, Dan Sultan, Katy Steele and many more. The performances will take place across a 5 km circuit, passing the Bon Scott statue along the way. So make sure you're in Freo on the 7th of May! Read more here
Music In Video Games - The Time is Now!
Most of you probably remember growing up playing the odd video game, and whether it was the musical score written for the game, or a soundtrack selected for the game, there was always some amazing music that stuck. I think I heard about My Chemical Romance from the PS2 game Burnout 3 when I was 11! Well, now is the time that music is most important in games! With it taking a bigger and bigger role in major features, bands featured on soundtracks and on scores is at an all time high. Maybe it's time to find your local game dev and hit them up!
