Hope you're all keeping happy and healthy as we head into the next 9 months of this year.

It's been so great to see so many new bands forming, as well as lots of new podcasts! No better time than now hey?

Metallica Purchase Own Record Pressing Plant

For an 'undisclosed sum', Metallica have purchased a majority stake in the Furnace Record Pressing company, building on a long-standing relationship between Metallica and Furnace that has produced a whopping five million pieces of Metallica vinyl since 2014!
Furnace says the acquisition will allow Metallica to meet “the massive demand for Metallica vinyl” and “better serve the needs of any and all vinyl lovers in the Metallica family.”
However, this also meets demands as they will press other vinyls, as sales of vinyl reached an incredible 1.2 billion dollars in the US last year! You can read more here

Aussies Are Buying More Music Than Ever

In a first since 2006, 2022 ARIA statistics revealed that Aussies purchased the most music in 17 years!
Aussies spent over 609 million dollars on music last year, up from 567 million the previous year. Streaming and vinyl albums are the main contributors here, as subscription streaming services rose 8.9% to $410.7 million, taking up 67.4% of the industry. Pretty impressive numbers, Australians sure do love our music. You can read more about it here!

In The Pines 2023!

RTRFM’s local music fest In the Pines will take place for the 30th time in its spiritual home of UWA’s Somerville Auditorium on the 30th of April! Featuring 20 of Perth’s best artists across two stages inside the Somerville, as well as 10 DJs on Riley Oval. CDJ3000 Tips & Tricks!

Maybe you've been down here at the studios giving the new CDJ3000s a burn, or maybe you've never given them a spin! Either way, there's some really cool features you can find in these bad boys, and I've found a neat video that helps you discover some of them! From changing waveform colours, moving loops around a playing track, fuzzy keymixing and more, im sure you'll learn something cool! Check it out here
