Decks Aren’t On

Lights Don’t Work

Make sure they are powered on at the wall
Make sure they are set to LED mode on the back. This will allow you to use the remote to switch colours.

You can also set the lights to SOUND mode, allowing them to change colour with the music you’re playing

No Sound Coming From Decks

Check the back of the speakers. Some users turn them off when they leave their session.

If using a USB into the decks, make sure the knob above your channel is switched to ‘line’

If using a laptop via USB into the mixer, make sure the knob above your channel, is switched to A or B (depending on which USB port you are using)

USB Not Being Read by CDJs

Make sure there are no other partitions on your USB. It should be songs or Rekordbox data only.
Format your USB to FAT32 for use with the CDJ2000s. EXFAT formatted USBs will work with the CDJ3000s, but not with CDJ2000s. You can see how to wipe and format your USB here for both Windows & Mac.
Make sure your drive is formatted to MBR (master boot record) and not GUID Partition table (GPT). You can see how to do this here
Make sure your USB is under 128gb, the optimum size is 32gb for use with the CDJ2000s. Bigger USBs formatted for EXFAT are fine with the CDJ3000s
Make sure you have the latest version of Windows or Mac on your computer, that is also compatible with your latest version of Rekordbox
Make sure your version of Rekordbox is 6 (or above) and is the most updated version, there are some export bugs that have been fixed rom previous updates (Tracks exported from Rekordbox 5 will no longer be read on CDJs)
Bring two USBs just in case, this way you can troubleshoot if it’s a broken usb or the files have been exported incorrectly.
We recommend using Sandisk brand USBs, again at a max of 32gb

Laptop Not Connecting

Make sure you have channels selected to either USB A or B via the knob at the top of the channel on the mixer.

Ensure you have the PAID version of Rekordbox. Rekordbox free will not work when wanting to use your laptop with the CDJs.
Ensure you have Rekordbox version 6 or above
The subscription is monthly and can be downloaded over our wifi. Login details are in your confirmation and reminder emails.
Make sure you know what type of Rekordbox License you have. Some licences are a key that is hardwired to a product, so say you bought a small set of Pioneer USB Decks that came with a Rekordbox licence, this licence is only valid when you are plugged in and using the external unit/mixer you purchased.
Make sure you have downloaded the appropriate driver (in rekordbox) for the unit. This driver is the DJM900NSX2 driver. Steps to do so can be found here
In your audio preferences inside Rekordbox, you can then select the DJM900NSX2 unit to connect to, and then arrange the channels on the deck the way you like
Make sure your laptop is connected to the mixer BEFORE you turn the mixer/decks on. Connect your laptop via the single USB cable, then turn all the decks and mixer on.

How Do I Livestream or Record my Set

You can easily record your set if you are using a Laptop through Rekordbox, through the Rekordbox record function.
If again using a laptop, you can stream from your laptop camera through a variety of apps.
If using an iPhone, download the DJM-REC app. Note, this is only available for iOS. With this app you can record audio, video and livestream to a variety of apps. Free for 30 Days, $7 to own after that. Like to download is here. Simply plug your phone into the top left hand corner of the mixer with your lighting cable. Make sure the send type is set to USB

For All Above DJ Issues

The best thing to do when encountering a problem is to first completely power down the decks. Often this can clear any bugs, as the decks have sometimes been on all day being used. Start them up fresh again.
